    The following are the duties of this position at the TR-08. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.

    ? Protect dies, monetary, and bullion assets in the custody or control of the United States Mint during production, processing, storage, transportation, or other use; protect all facility space and property against theft, assault, sabotage; and protect United States Mint employees and visitors from threats or hazards of physical harm or injury, violence in the workplace, criminal acts such as assault or robbery, and acts of terrorism.

    ? Apprehend, detain, and/or arrest persons considered extremely violent, mentally disturbed or intoxicated, and risk the ever present dangers of breaking and entering, trespassing occurrences on Federal property, armed robbery confrontations, and the protection of Federal officials and respective employees.

    ? Perform patrol duties as deterrence to crime and other violations of laws, rules, and regulations.

      For the TR-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at the level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the TR-06/GS-05 grade level in the Federal service.

      Specialized experience for this position includes:
      - Experience that provided knowledge of a body of laws and regulations such as Federal, State or Local Laws, law enforcement operations, practices and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property.
      Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.

      For the TR-06, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service.

      Specialized experience for this position includes:
      - Experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property.
      Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills.

      The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

      CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
      - A one year probationary period may be required.
      - Must successfully complete a background investigation.
      - Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

      - Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis, 5 days a week. Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis.
      - May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include safety shoes, hard hats, hearing protection, gloves, masks, etc.
      - Pass a pre-employment physical examination.
      - Pass a pre-employment psychological evaluation.
      - Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
